Truth be told, I've been back for a while. My knitting has totally fallen by the wayside. I haven't knit a thing since we left for Washington. I finally cast on something Sunday so there will be knitting content in my next post. I did, however, take a gazillion pictures while in Washington so, for your viewing pleasure, here are a few slide shows.
Pics around the house and some out and about.
We hung out in downtown Olympia one afternoon and stopped at Heritage Fountain near Capitol Lake so Sophia and Shawn could play. As usual, I documented the event. Momma and cold water do not mix.
The next afternoon we drove up to Lake Cushman only to discover that the beachwear Sophia and I had chosen was ill-advised. I think he must forget sometimes that we live in Mississippi and have no tolerance for wind or cold. Fortunately, like any good boyscout, he had an extra shirt and a blanket. It was so beautiful and peaceful up there, though. The drive there and back was chock full of scenic delight. I'm extremely envious of the inhabitants on the lakefront and the surrounding area.
As always, it was a painful goodbye. We missed Julian like crazy, though, and were happy to see him. As a thank you to Julian's grandmother for taking such great care of him, I gifted her with the Hemlock Ring Blanket.
