Same sock, different yarn

I couldn't control myself. In the downtime between clues, I cast on for another TTL Mystery Sock. This time I'm using some BFL Sock from the Yarn Pirate in the Neptune colorway. It was the Booty Club yarn for August.

Because of the variegation, I opted to do the Basic Version. Since the 56 st size ended up being snug, I cast on for the 64 st size. I'm also doing another new-to-me sock technique, Magic Loop! I wanted to cast on so much that I didn't even bother to wind the yarn into a ball. I'm knitting directly from the skein. Dangerous, I know, but so far so good. (I'll probably screw myself tonight just because I typed that now.)

Clue #1-Basic Version
After the way the previous Yarn Pirate skein pooled, I was not expecting the striping effect that I'm getting. I love these geeky little knitterly surprises that only other knitters understand.
